The organizational structure of the State Forests National Forest Holding has been refined over decades and is based on the principle of self-financing. As a result, the State Forests do not rely on taxpayers’ money. Forest units operate at the national, regional and local levels, employing more than 25,000 people in total.
The State Forests have been in existence for more than a century. Despite historical upheavals and organisational changes, the institution continues to thrive today, successfully combining its rich traditions with modern approaches to forest management.
The State Forests National Forest Holding is the largest organization in the European Union responsible for managing forests owned by the State Treasury. We operate responsibly, professionally, and transparently, managing a shared national asset - our forests - while ensuring their sustainability, development, and the protection of natural resources. At the same time, we fulfill the forests functions in line with society’s expectations and the needs of the economy.
