The State Forests’ units can obtain LIFE Programme funding for projects related to nature conservation.

The funding may amount up to 95 percent of eligible costs within a particular project (support of the European Commission and The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management). Current LIFE Programme involves environment and climate actions and is a continuation of LIFE+ financial instrument operational in the years 2007-2013.

Allocation for Poland, which is to be used within the scope of the programme until the end of 2017 (in the part concerning environment), amounts to 40 million euro.

Programme funds may be spent on projects implemented in the following areas:

  • Nature conservation and effective resource management;
  • Nature and biodiversity;
  • Management and social communication within the scope of environment.

As in previous years, The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management serves as The National Contact Point (NCP), and plans to organize LIFE Information Day in January. In the following months the NCP also intends to provide  a series of trainings for potential beneficiaries.
